St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is searching for its next rector and is now ready to review candidates.
The church is a warm and welcoming community, identifying hospitality and outreach as core to who we are. With a 170 year presence in Sycamore, we have deep community ties with involvement in numerous local outreach programs. Compassionate care is central to St. Peter’s mission. Theologically diverse, members of St. Peter’s value worship that is faithful to the Book of Common Prayer, and preaching that speaks to the realities of daily life while encouraging us to grow spiritually.
St. Peter’s seeks a dynamic and compassionate rector who is approachable, who is a thoughtful listener, and who has a genuine love of building relationships. The congregation is eager to partner with their rector to write the next chapter of their story with hope and joy.
Sycamore, located 60 miles west of Chicago, is essentially a twin city to Dekalb, home of Northern Illinois University. Sycamore has the warmth and welcome of a small town, with the annual pumpkin festival and parade being at the heart of the community calendar. Residents consider it a great place to live and raise a family.
